Stop guessing which keys are slowing you down.

TypeCred times every keystroke, scores each key and finger for accuracy and hesitation, builds drills from what it finds, and issues a certificate an employer can verify. Everything is stored in this browser.

What TypeCred measures

Most typing tests give you one number at the end. This one records the timestamp of every keystroke and works backwards from there, so the result is a diagnosis rather than a score.

Every key, scored separately

Each key and each two- and three-character transition gets an accuracy and a hesitation score, weighted by how much evidence sits behind it — so a key you have hit four times is not ranked beside one you have hit four hundred.

Drills built from your own mistakes

Practice passages are generated from your history, dense in the keys that cost you the most, with isolation blocks for the transitions that stall you. Repeating text you are already good at is how practice stops working.

A certificate that can be checked

An invigilated run issues a signed PDF whose QR code resolves to a verification page. Change the name, the speed or the date and the signature stops matching, and the page says so.

How much speed does your job need?

Requirements vary more than most people expect — customer service listings often open around 40 words per minute, medical transcription can ask for ninety. The 60 WPM figure that appears most often in administrative listings grades as B-Tier / Advanced here.

Worth reading first

Including the case against bothering with a certificate at all, which applies to more people than it does not.

Where your typing is stored

In your browser. Every session, every keystroke interval and every diagnosis lives in this device’s own storage and is analysed there — there is no account to create and nothing to sign in to. The only thing the server ever records is a keyed hash of the network a certificate was issued to, so the daily limit can be enforced, and that is deleted within a day.
